San Mig survived 20-point deficit to defeat the Globalport

SANMIG Coffee Mixers survived the 20-point deficit to defeat the Global Port Batang Pier 92-82, Friday night in the 2014 PBA Governor’s Cup Elimination Rounds at the Araneta Coliseum.
Reinforced by Dior Lowhorn, who replaced Leroy Hickerson, Global Port dominated the first two quarters of the game. They were leading by as much as 20 points in the first half through the efforts of Lowhorn who scored 17 points in the first half alone.
But Peter June Simon and Marqus Blakely led the Coffee Mixers waking up from sleeping. They woke up in the second half and led his team gradually come back in the game. Blakely finished 25 points 13 rebounds, five assists and six steals to lead San Mig while Simon added 24 points.
San Mig Coach Tim Cone said,
“Tough beginning for us, they were very prepared…We were very sluggish, but we got some things going coming out of halftime that kinda got our activity going on the defensive end.”

San Mig improved their win-loss record to 3-1 while the Global Port dropped to 1-3 slate despite the monster performance of Lowhorn who finished with 33 points and 16 rebounds in 44 minutes of action.
